The world of Salt'n Becker is colourful, responsible and very unique.
We believe in individuality instead of mass-production. Not driven by trends, we buy up available, overproduced, as well as small fabric stocks and vintage fabrics from Europe and create wonderful coats and accessories out of them. To us it's fundamental to buy our fabrics sustainably, to use existing resources optimally and to create long-lasting products women feel fabulous in.
Heart and creative mind behind the Viennese fashion label is the German designer Friederike Becker. Her passion for beautiful fabrics, precious details and timeless silhouettes are the core of the label.
Fabrics with small blemishes or material deviations are often no longer usable for many companies and are therefore discarded. Not for us though. Color deviations or little weaving faults are no reason for us to not find use for the undamaged areas of this fabric — for example for fabric bags, accessories or details.
But also in our own manufacturing processes its important to us to focus on optimal use of our resources and a responsible waste management. Many of our precious accessories are made of the left over fabric scraps that accrue from the cutting of our coats.
Our mission is to minimize the waste of fabrics by responsibly creating must-have coats and accessories out of available fabrics that will last beyond purchase, trend and season. With thoughtful design, small quantities, craftsmanship and fairness in production we take a stand against the waste of natural and human resources, fast-moving trends, environmental pollution and exploitation. Nevertheless to genuinely reduce the massive amounts of textile waste, we all have to urgently change our way of consumption and start to value the products we buy. Fashion shouldn’t be waste.
